Our restorative dentistry services

If you have a damaged or broken tooth, then restorative procedures can give you back a complete smile. As well as looking better from a cosmetic point of view, it can also improve other aspects of your oral health.

What are the benefits?

  • By replacing any missing teeth, the other teeth will stay in position and not shift in the mouth. Shifting teeth can cause cosmetic issues as well bite problems
  • Your overall oral hygiene will be improved
  • Prevention of further structural or gum issues if the original problem isn’t treated in time
  • Increase in self-confidence from having a complete smile without missing or damaged teeth

Restorative dentistry services

The two main types of restorative procedures we offer are:

A dental bridge is made to cover missing teeth. It is made up of crowns which ‘bridge’ the gap. In order to fix the bridge, the teeth on either side of the gap are used to anchor the bridge in place. Bridges can be made from a number of different materials including porcelain, gold or alloys.

There are many benefits to having a dental bridge fitted. This includes helping to complete your smile and also works to distribute the pressure from your bite.

Missing teeth can change the shape of your face and cause your other teeth to move out of position and affect your bite.

Today’s dental bridges are very advanced and can be made to look like the surrounding teeth.

Dental implants

If you need an extraction, or already have a missing tooth, you can consider a dental implant. These are often the preferred way to fill gaps in teeth (or even all teeth). Dental implants don’t involve having to alter other teeth to fit them.

Implants can be a long term solution and are cosmetically undetectable. The procedure involves having a screw made of titanium placed in the jaw where it will bond with the bone, a crown is then fitted over it that matches the size and shape of your original teeth.

Dental implants can last a lifetime if they are cared for properly. Once fitted, you can then go back to biting, chewing and speaking as you were meant to.

Aftercare advice

Our dentistry services also include detailed aftercare and advice. We’ll show you how to maintain your new smile and develop a great brushing routine.
